THE circus arrives in town next week when the famous Billy Smart’s entourage rolls into Haydock Park.

Billy’s grandaughter Yasmine Smart heads the show performed by the biggest circus company touring the UK which was established 68 years ago and quickly became a household name. At the peak of popularity televised circus performances attracted huge audiences of 21 million viewers.

No animals are featured in the 2014 circus routine but circus crowds will be entertained by top artists from around the world in a fast-moving family show.

Acts range from the five Flying Aces trapeze act from Australia, the Assadulin troupe from Russia, talented acrobats from Romania, footjugglers, clowns and a live band. The racecourse event runs from Tuesday, April 8 to Sunday, April 13 with performances at 2.30pm and 7pm Tuesday to Friday; 2pm, 4.45pm and 7.30pm on Saturday and at 12.30pm and 3.30pm on Sunday.
