I'VE had a long-distance message from California from Leslie Pickering, seeking a special photograph of his dad, Les, who died in April.
What he wants precisely is a shot of his father during his time in Suez, in order to mount with his medals.
"We don't have any pictures of him during his time in the forces", says Leslie of 2512 Portofino Drive, Modesta, California 95356.
A recent picture in this column featured Les and his old gang. Les was belatedly awarded a medal for Veterans of the Canal Zone (Suez).
