Let's hope it happens this time!
I don't know if it has a name yet. Can I suggest 'Glassworks'?

Is it going to happen? will something else fall through? will Tesco go into administation like Allsports and Earth?

I'll believe it when I'm in it, supporting the greatest team that deserve it.

Ever the pessimist!

Hurrah!!
At last St Helens RFC will have a quality home which is well deserved and will put the town at the forefront of Sporting Facilities. It will hopefully put the first class facilities at Headingley in the shade. Welcome to the 21st Century.

"Crucially, permission for Tesco at Chalon Way to be converted to a shopping site and for homebuilder Taylor Woodrow to develop houses on Knowsley Road is needed if the stadium bid is to be successful."

fingers and everything else crossed that it goes through this time, the club and town need this new stadium, but as for the use of tesco store in chalon way, surely part of that site could be used for a new and larger bus station to serve the town, the one we have now is as bad as the knowsley road ground, too old, too small, badly sited and not a good advert for st helens

This is fantastic news for Saints, their fans and the town to have a world class stadium, to complement the World Club Champions.
