THE guitar player Greg Davies from The Windows, which started out in the early 80s and is still gigging this year is well known for inviting musicians into his jamming sessions.
However on his Facebook page he writes about local memories of Woodlands Road.
He said: "On about Woodlands Road shops when I was a toddler, 1970ish, Mrs Taylors was the wool and knitwear shop. Smith's had the butchers next door (Mrs Smith always gave the kids a lollipop). Andrews was a general/DIY shop selling candles, string, mousetraps and that sort of thing. Hobson's was the newsagent and last but not least was Tommy Wright's grocery shop. If you cut through Derwent Road you had Case's shop on Green Leach Lane. I think it was a grocers too but I'm not sure. It was the same Cases who had an estate agents."
If you remember a hub of shops in your area get in touch.
