MR H Manning from Eccleston has been reminiscing following a recent piece about Pumblechook's dress shop.
He wrote: "I was born in Kirkland Street in 1950 and lived there til the council purchased it in 1975.
"In the 60s the far properties on the corner of Kirkland Street and Peter Street were Barker's Florists, Caines pie shop, Green's Fruit and veg and Mrs Bannister whose family ran fruit and veg stalls in the market.
"I'm 99 per cent sure these shops were still there throughout the 60s and 70s til they were demolished."
