THIS year’s Heritage Open Days will take place from Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 13.
If you intend to raise money over these days there are a number of ways of doing so but admission to your main attraction must be free of charge.
Running a free tour if visitors have to pay admission doesn’t count.
You could open a site or part of a site that isn’t usually open to the public or offer free entry if there is normally an admission fee.
If your site is open free of charge all year round you could do something out of the ordinary such as having volunteer stewards answering visitor questions.
Contact the council’s events team to discuss ideas. You could also let me have any details for my column.
