I AM grateful to the lady who popped around and gave me an A3 size long service certificate for the archives.
It reads: “This certificate was presented to John R. Crooks by the board of directors of Pilkington Brothers Ltd glass manufacturers, St Helens and Doncaster, as a mark of appreciation and in recognition of faithful service during the past twenty six years."
It‘s dated St Helens January 1, 1928. Can anyone tell me more? It’s like one of those illuminated Anglo Saxon documents, ornate with photos of the directors in each of the four corners."
