JEFF Wharton from Leicester emailed me with pictures he believes show the only remaining evidence that there was once a railway line which passed under Chain Lane, Blackbrook.
He wrote: “As well as the bent metal sign you can also see some moss-covered stones that must have been part of the bridge. I went to have a look at the location but could not see anything of the evidence because of the dense undergrowth at this time of the year. The photos were taken before the weeds and brambles had started to take over.”
