COFFEY TIME reader Colin Greenall, of the Sankey Canal and Restoration Society, sent me a selection of photographs
One of them (pictured left) is a tad grainy but you can make out the row of cottages, on Wharf Road, that we mentioned in a past item along, with the 'Ship Inn' 1950s.
Colin sent the picture following the image of Newton lock, with Sankey Viaduct in the background, that stirred plenty of feedback.
He included with image of list of occupants from the row of cottages. It included families such as the Warbutons, the Baddelys, the Burtons and the Catterals.
