I DO enjoy organising special events. Two years ago I set up an evening at the Citadel that commemorated the sinking of the Titanic. It combined arts with local history and was done in partnership with our local Titanic group.
This year on Thursday, November 6 I will be doing an event with local writer and poet Sue Gerrard.
The theme will be Jacobean. If you think that only involves a furniture exhibition you are wrong.
It was a time of the Gunpowder Plot, the witches’ trials and the Jacobite rebellions.
We have a full programme at least two hours long.
Those taking part are Chris and Bob Roach performing the Childe of Hale, Sue Gerrard as Isobel Robey, Writers Unite with three monologues, Norman Western and the Unnamed Players.
The author Peter Clawson is also due to travel from Lincolnshire for the event.
Tickets are £5 and can be purchased at the Citadel’s box office. The evening is due to finish around 10pm.
