HERE’S another ‘where we were’ puzzler for readers to get their teeth into.

A tip is that it’s an entrance to one the town’s gems – but can you tell me where? As usual, stories and memories of the location are also appreciated.

I’m eagerly looking forward to a series of national heritage open days that will take place between September 11 and 14.

It promises to be a unique national celebration that brings our hidden history to life.

The four-day festival will include a diverse array of events, ranging from 1950s tea-dances to Elizabethan garden parties. Join guided walks, visit secret archives, discover hidden works of art – or simply pack a picnic and soak up the sunshine in a garden of your choice”.

I hope that as many individual buildings as possible, particularly those that have rarely or never taken part before, will join in and show the local public around, particularly those parts that are normally off limits.

This is most important where taxpayers or ratepayers money has been used to help finance them.
