The old photograph used recently of two cottages at Garswood brought a welcome response from Roland Hosker.
He told me: “The cottages were built in 1864 for the manager of Pew Fall colliery. I have lived there for 71 years and my family moved into the house in 1908. The colliery was situated on Liverpool Road in Pew Fall and was owned by Richard Evans.”
Roland kindly provided a photograph of the front of the cottages as they are today which is reproduced here.
