A COUPLE of weeks ago CoffeyTime mentioned that John Kearns wants to solve a dispute about a shop on the corner of Ramford Street and Parr Stocks Road.
“I remember the butchers as Claytons in the 50s and early 60s, but I am told it has always been Boldsworths,” queried John. Derek Cunliffe, who used to own a shop on Parr Stocks Road.
He has told me that it was correct that Claytons owned the butcher’s shop in the 50s and the early 60s. Boldsworth worked in the shop and was thus a familiar figure. In the 60s the Claytons sold Boldsworth the business and he became the proprietor.
