The Township’s Family History Society help and workshop evenings are held at the Local History and Archive Library, 1st Floor, Central Library, Victoria Square, on Tuesdays, between 3.45pm and 6.45pm.

SUNDAY, March 16: classic bus enthusiasts and their families will enjoy free bus rides around the town. Dennis, AEC, Bristol and Guy buses will take to the road in the North West Road Transport Museum’s ‘I can’t believe it’s not Leyland’ bus running day centred on the Hall Street museum. Tea, coffee and andwiches will be on sale. Admission for adults is £3.50 adults, £2.50 children and £3 concessions, Family tickets are £10. Plenty of mainly transport-orientated traders stallswill be there from 10am to 4pm.

MONDAY, March 17: St Helens Historical Society at the Friends Meeting House on Church Street, 7.30pm. ‘Edward Kemp - Landscape Gardener’, with Elizabeth Davey.

THURSDAY, March 20: St. Helens Townships Family History Society. St. Helens Town Hall, 6.45 for a 7pm start. ‘The Chapel at Whiston Workhouse’, with Gerard Halliday.
