MOTORISTS are being reminded that from Wednesday October 1 they won’t need to display the paper tax disc in their windscreens.
Anyone with a tax disc which still has time to run after this date can remove and destroy it.
From the start of October tax details will be stored electronically. Databases will be used to check whether a vehicle has been taxed and number plate recognition technology will be used to catch those who haven’t paid.
