A COURT hearing will take place tomorrow after police served a closure notice at an alleged ‘crack den’.

Up to 40 police officers executed drugs warrants during raids at five addresses in St Helens and one in Liverpool today.

At one property, a flat at 7 Glover Street, officers fixed a closure notice on the front door and will attempt to secure legal powers at St Helens Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Friday) to shut the property down.

Officers allege it has been used as a “crack house”.

No arrests were made at the address but two men have been arrested – one on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug and the other in connection with handling stolen drugs – as part of the wider police inquiry.

The operation follows complaints from residents in Glover Street and community intelligence that suggests Class A drugs have been used at the flat.
