WORKERS from Miller Homes in Newton-le-Willows took part in a dragon boat race to raise money for a children’s charity.
The event at Roundhay Park in Leeds the weekend before last raised more than £500 for Martin’s House Children’s Hospice.
This year‘s event saw 41 teams take part made up from businesses and organisations from across the north west.
Jamie Ashworth, team captain and surveying manager for Miller Homes, said: “It was a fantastic day and a really well supported event.
“Despite our best efforts the team didn’t manage to claim first place but we really enjoyed ourselves and are delighted to have been able to raise money for a very good cause.”
